Beware of Scammers Sending Fraudulent DocuSign Links

The Alameda Rent Program has received multiple inquiries about emails received on Friday, October 18, 2024, that list the program's phone number and mailing address and present themselves as a request to submit information via DocuSign. The Rent Program did not send these emails, and recipients should avoid clicking any links or sharing any information.

The apparent phishing scam may be targeting companies who have bid on contracts with Alameda County.

Rent Program staff occasionally provide City of Alameda landlords and tenants with links to complete legitimate program forms via DocuSign, but the program will never send these unprompted.

If you received one of these emails, please forward it to rentprogram@alamedaca.gov and explain that you saw this notice.

If you are ever unsure whether an email you have received came from the Rent Program, call us directly at 510-747-7520 to confirm. Similarly, if you receive a call and are unsure whether the person on the other end is a representative of the Rent Program, hang up and call us back directly at 510-747-7520.
